About Us

American Independent Music is a family of regional music websites that feature the work of singer/songwriters and bands from all parts of the country. The concept was developed by a group of Nashville singer/songwriters as an avenue for themselves and others to have their music heard and available for purchase by their fans new and old.

While many of the songwriters featured on the American Independent Music sites have had their songs recorded by artists for major record labels, we found very little available for the promotion of the independent writers themselves performing their own work. With the assistance of many talented Nashville singer/songwriters, we were able to create a website which captures the essence of high quality music performed by a uniquely talented group of independent artists.

Special recognition is given to Jonathan Long, whose help and encouragement and constant work at artist wrangling have made this website possible. Jonathan’s work is featured on several CD’s and downloads available on Nashville Independent Music and all of the rest of the American Independent Music sites.

Nashville Independent Music was the first site opened in early 2006.  Sites serving the New York, California, the Heartland (Midwest) and Southern regions will be opened in early 2007 with thirteen others to follow over the course of the next year.

We hope you enjoy the music you find here. All of the featured artists were brought on-board by invitation. Our music editors have screened all music quality and content before offering it on our website.
