“GUITARMANIA WITH ANDY ELLIS” DEBUTS TONIGHT |
| |
The NIM Radio Top 10 and the Nashville Independent Music Hour live acoustic music show are going on hiatus for a while and, in their place, we’re proud to present “Guitarmania with Andy Ellis.” Andy is a former senior editor with Guitar Player magazine as well as a contributor to many other music publications. Andy will be playing his favorite guitar cuts and never before heard interviews he’s conducted with many legendary guitarists. It all starts tonight (Thursday) and every Thursday at 10:00pm on 98.9 WRFN-FM / Radio Free Nashville and on the Internet at www.radiofreenashville.org. Thanks go out to Andy for taking over the slot and for all the effort he's put into the new show.

DAVE MCCORMICK TO OPEN FOR MERLE HAGGARD |
| |
NIM member Dave McCormick had two pieces of good fortune this past week. First, he signed his writer's deal with Sure Fire Music. And then he found out that he'll be opening for the great Merle Haggard at the Ryman Auditorium this coming Wednesday, June 25th. It's the kind of information that makes you realize that Nashville gets it right once in a while and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. In addition to being one of the finest guitarists around, Dave is truly one of the nicest, humblest people in town. Congratulations Dave. There are still a few tickets available.

WE'RE BACK !!! |
| |
As you probably know, if you’re a regular visitor to the Nashville Independent Music site, we’ve had a major catastrophe over the past few weeks, what turned out to be the perfect storm of web problems. Well, it took a lot of hard work but, as you can see, we’re back! Everything is the same as it was, but this episode gave us a whole new checklist of things that we’d like NIM to do. And we’re starting today to accomplish them. Stay tuned for more news as things progress.

CHECK OUT OUR NIM TOP 10 SHOW |
| |
For those of you that haven’t already listened, we do the Nashville Independent Music Top 10 show every Thursday night at 10:00pm CST. We play the current Top 10 songs along with a few others for your consideration. After listening, vote for your favorite at www.nimradio.com. Voting is open from 10:00pm Thursday until midnight on the following Tuesday and you can vote once per day. The songs with the most votes will return the following week. And if a song makes it through eight weeks, it goes to the NIM Radio Hall to Fame. Check out the Hall of Fame songs at www.nashvilleim.com/halloffame.
The Nashville Independent Music Top 10 show is hosted by John Haring and is broadcast every Thursday at 10:00pm CST on Radio Free Nashville, 98.9FM in Nashville. Don’t be fooled, though, by the country station in Lebanon that has their frequency in the rest of the area. WRFN’s signal isn’t that strong, so if you can’t get it, or if you’re in another part of the world, you can find the show on www.radiofreenashville.org. Just click the “Listen Online” button in the right column. They also have a signal on the SAP band of channel 10 on Comcast Cable TV in Davidson County, TN. Instructions to get the SAP signal can be found on their website.
And, at 11:00pm CST, immediately following the Top 10 show, is a rebroadcast of season 1 of the popular Nashville Independent Music Hour, our acoustic music show co-hosted by John Haring and CJ Watson. Hear great writers do live versions of their great songs. Click here to listen to all of the season 1 shows and to buy downloads and CD’s. And look for an announcement of our season 2 taping schedule coming soon.

Suzanna Spring’s New Song Goes To Charity |
| |
Suzanna Spring’s song “Never Been Kissed” is now available for download. What’s so special about that? Well, all profits from the sale of the song, including NIM’s portion, are going to Rose Charities. Suzanna wrote and originally performed the song for a benefit at the Frist Center in Nashville in October. Mane Events and Rose chairperson Noot Seear hosted a runway show to raise money for cleft lip and palate corrective surgeries for children in Cambodia and Vietnam, where the disability is so prevalent. It’s a great song and the money goes to a great cause. Each download is $1.99. Click here to go to Suzanna’s page.
